Atlas Cafe

Our all time favourite restaurant and the food indicates that whoever owns it has a love affair with food, beautiful seasonings and textures. It is a breath of fresh air when so many restaurants heat up frozen fair. Thank you, Atlas!

Consistently good food.

My sister and I had lunch at your restaurant on April 8th, 2010. We were referred by the Marigold Pharmacy. The lunch was delicious and our waitress was very courteous and informative.

Excellent food, with subtle use of herbs and spices. People who write critical comments obviously have little culinary experience and lack good taste.

Love it ! terrific food, always tasty and fresh ingredients. The servers are awesome. Go early, it gets and stays busy.

Upon my first visit to the Atlas, I was confused by the menu. Just egg dishes. But after we both tried the benedict (with smoked salmon and capers) I could never imagine ordering anything else for breakfast there! Our eggs were poached exactly as we'd ordered them, and the hollandaise was light and velvety. The roast potatoes that came as a side were a real treat, especially since there were a few yam cubes thrown into the mix, I loved the hot sauce that was served alongside them. The fruit was fresh and varied and cut artfully. Returned for breakfast another day and it was just as good, although I had to ask for the hot sauce that time. Also have enjoyed lunch there. Had the seared tuna salad in a pappadum bowl. Unbelievable. (I would also recommend trying the carrot cake if you have the opportunity.) On every visit the service was polite and attentive. the staff really seem to want to make certain you have a good experience there. I wish I didn't have three-and-a-half hour drive to Courtenay, otherwise I'd probably go there daily!

the atlas is trendy, unique and delicious!!!!!

A bit quirky here, however very enjoyable. We have done all three squares here and enjoyed the food. Staff does seem to be hit and miss, might just be that some are wonderful and the expectation is high for every visit. Portions are also hit and miss, although usually decent.

Fabulous restaurant!! Great Food, Healthy Food Choices, great service and very lively atmosphere. One of my favourite places to go for lunch with the ladies!

MY FAVORTITE RESTAURANT ON VANCOUVER ISLAND! WHEN I'M IN COURTENAY IM AT ATLAS!

We especially love the breakfast here..unique and delicious..if you are lucky enough to put this cafe into your routine, you will quickly learn that the staff love what they do and we feel very welcomed..not sure why the previous comments mention greasy food as we learnt early on that the is no deep fryer. We find the food clean and fresh and the staff friendly.

I have been there twice with two children and have to say that it was a great experience both times. They have a wonderful menu and any restaurant that also has a kids menu gets my vote. The staff was very friendly considering how busy they are and the food was excellent. Would recommend them any time.

Food flavourful but far too greasy, crowded, and pretentious. Menu priced according to reputation rather than quality. An ok bistro...but just ok.

I went with a lot of expectation and was severly disappointed with everything. Waited for ever for a seat, usually a good sign - in this case it's a mystery to me. The joint was crazy with noise to the point that you could not here your companion or the waiter. The water served for the long wait was warm and the food overdone. My sandwich chewed up my mouth. Over rated, over priced and a disappointment.

The Atlas is by far the best restaurant in the Comox Valley. The Service is excellent and the food is always very good. It is a nicely varied menu with a creative assortment to choose from. Meals are served promptly and are always simply yet beautifully presented. I look forward to having lunch at the Atlas again soon!

i love this cafe...definitely my favourite place in the comox valley. my tastebuds always get excited from all the rich flavours from their numerous yummy dishes. a definite recommendation...Mmmmmmm

This is a great restaurant! The food is properly balanced for the price and I would challenge anyone to find something better in the mid-island. Their line-ups out the door may be one indication of their constant quality and great service. We are from Victoria and make a point of going every time we are in town. Keep it up Atlas!

Amazing food, excellent martinis, cannot say enough good things about this place. Always a highlight of our time upisland.

PS -- have the fish tacos -- to die for!

I dont see what the big attraction is and is a little pricey for what you get over rated

good food, very pretentious staff and portions though.. breakfast is wonderful there
